Canyon X in Arizona was formed when flash floods during the area’s monsoon season accumulated and carved out these subterranean slot canyons. During the summer months, they are known for the light beams that occur for, at best, a few minutes a day when the angle of sunlight is just perfect. A Navajo guide is required to explore these canyons, and mine was kind enough to show me one of his favorite of these light beams. He even threw some dust in the air to accentuate this phenomenon as I graciously captured this moment with my camera. Limited Edition of 450.
