Fascinated by mountains all his life, Clark is obsessed with their mystique and the myriad ways they influence light.

Naturally, Clark is always on the hunt for dynamic scenes in Colorado and the western United States, to keep this Collection fresh. Drifting Thoughts

In this example of Clark Schiring's Rugged Mountainscapes, a rising sun causes glowing light to enshroud Aspen, Colorado's famed Maroon Bells. With a nice reflection causing the fall foliage to have a symmetrical-mirrored effect, the fourteeners tower in the background.

Telluride, Colorado is featured in this Rugged Mountainscape, golden Aspen trees are gleaming with a small cottage peeking from behind the groves. Craggy peaks outline the horizon at Blue Hour where these trees all reflect off a peaceful, serene lake.

Soul Searching

The Zodiac Ridge in the background, this Rugged Mountainscapes was taken in astronomical twilight, moonlight from the rising moon is underlighting the clouds which were shot with a long-shutter, creating this long-exposure image. The reflections of this scene in a mildly-rippled Willow Lake in Colorado's Gore Range causes a change in texture as the wind current changes.

Peak One’s reflection captured on a bright day with puffy cumulous clouds rolling by, captures the first chill of Autumn as some Golden Aspen trees accentuate the lower flanks of Summit County, Colorado’s Tenmile Range. Reflecting off of Rainbow Lake, near Frisco, the Yellows and Blues in this image create a pleasing contrast of colors.

On the flanks of Mount Evans, this group of Granite overlooks a purple cloud beneath the rising sun. A cloud inversion has created a lower-level cloud creating an etheral and otherworldly effect--the purple cloud below goes off into the infinite distance.
